AEP Plans Live Webcast of Annual Meeting of Shareholders

COLUMBUS, Ohio, April 24, 2009 – American Electric Power (NYSE: AEP) will provide a live webcast of its annual meeting of shareholders Tuesday, April 28, beginning at 10:30 a.m. EDT (9:30 a.m. CDT). The meeting will be held in Austin, Texas.

The webcast will offer both audio and video from the meeting and will be accessible at http://www.aep.com/go/webcast. It also will be available at this site after the meeting.

AEP’s utility units operate as AEP Ohio, AEP Texas, Appalachian Power (in Virginia and West Virginia), AEP Appalachian Power (in Tennessee), Indiana Michigan Power, Kentucky Power, Public Service Company of Oklahoma, and Southwestern Electric Power Company (in Arkansas, Louisiana and east Texas).
