As AEP Texas restores electric service to the final customers affected by Hurricane Beryl whose homes and physical locations are able to receive power, AEP Texas asks that customers who are still without power call the AEP Texas Customer Solutions Center at (877) 373-4858 and report their outage.
At 10 a.m., crews have restored electric service to 94% of the 35,500 customers left without power after the storm made landfall early Monday.
As crews continue restoring electric service, customers are reminded of the following:
- Please do not approach crews working. Distractions to our crews while they work with high voltage lines and equipment could be disastrous or even deadly.
- All downed power lines should be considered energized and dangerous. Do not touch anything in contact with the line, such as trees, fences, or puddles of water. Keep children and pets inside during and after the storm. Stay at least ten feet away from any downed power line.
- If you plan to use a portable generator, always follow the manufacturer’s instructions.
