AEP Texas Restores 97% of Customers, Begins to Demobilize Storm Response

July 12, 2024

At 10:15 a.m. Friday, AEP Texas has restored over 97 percent of customers left without power by Hurricane Beryl whose homes or physical locations can receive power.

Customers who are still without power should call the AEP Texas Customer Solutions Center at (877) 373-4858 and report their outage.

AEP Texas will begin to demobilize the storm restoration effort.

On behalf of AEP Texas, AEP, and companies that sent individuals to Texas to work the Hurricane Beryl restoration effort, thank you to every customer for your patience during the response operations. We are grateful

As crews continue restoring electric service, customers are reminded of the following:

  • Please do not approach crews working. Distractions to our crews while they work with high voltage lines and equipment could be disastrous or even deadly.
  • All downed power lines should be considered energized and dangerous. Do not touch anything in contact with the line, such as trees, fences, or puddles of water. Keep children and pets inside during and after the storm. Stay at least ten feet away from any downed power line.
  • If you plan to use a portable generator, always follow the manufacturer’s instructions.

Customers can sign up for outage alerts at AEPTexas.com and follow us on social media.
