Monday, July 12, 2010 – Indiana Michigan Power (I&M) customers in Indiana now have three new opportunities to save energy and money on their electric bills. I&M recently launched three new energy efficiency programs as part of its SMART Programs: Saving Money And Resources Together®. These three programs are among seven new SMART Programs I&M is rolling out this year to give Indiana customers greater control over their energy usage and help them reduce overall energy costs. New programs include:
· Residential Rebate Program:Offers in-store discounts to I&M residential customers for energy efficient product purchases, with an initial focus on energy efficient compact fluorescent lighting (CFLs). For more information, call 1-877-338-3025.
· C&I Rebates Program: Offers cash rebates to commercial and industrial customers for the purchase and installation of qualifying energy efficient products and equipment. For more information, call 1-877-338-3025.
· Residential Home Energy Savings Program: This program offers all-electric customers energy savings through home energy audits. Customers are eligible to receive discounts on materials and labor to make their homes more energy efficient. For more information, call 1-877-338-8954.
In late May, I&M launched the first of its SMART Programs – the Appliance Recycling Program – which gives I&M residential customers a $30 rebate for their old, inefficient refrigerators or freezers. I&M’s program vendor, JACO, hauls away these appliances for free and recycles them in an environmentally responsible manner. For more information, call 1-877-395-5537.
